You can come and see it
We are not an olive oil tourism centre with opening hours and a gift shop. We are a family with a grove, and if you let us know beforehand, we enjoy showing it. You can also collect your order here and skip the shipping.
What there is to see
The grove is on the hillside north of Marmolejo. It is an easy walk up, and from the top you see the whole Guadalquivir valley. Around it grow rockrose, thyme and caper — ordinary Mediterranean scrub.
We show you the trees, how the fruit is doing at that point in the year, and why we pick when we pick. Come during harvest — late October to December — and you can watch the picking and follow a load to the mill.
When to come
Harvest is when there is most to see, and also when we have least time: come in November and expect us to talk while we work.
From March to June the grove is in flower and the sierra is green. It is the pleasantest time to walk, even with no work to watch.
July and August are a heat we would not wish on anyone.
Collecting your order at the estate
If you live nearby or are passing through, you can order and collect here. No shipping cost, and you take the oil away the same day.
Marmolejo sits on the A-4 between Andújar and Córdoba, so it is on the way for more people than you would think. Write to us and we will arrange it.
While you are here
Marmolejo has a spa whose waters were declared mineral-medicinal in 1869, and which in the first half of the twentieth century filled the town with hotels and even brought it the province’s first tram.
The town is also the gateway to two natural parks: the Sierra de Andújar in Jaén and the Sierras de Cardeña y Montoro in Córdoba. It is one of the best places in Spain to see Iberian lynx, and the banks of the Guadalquivir here make for very good walking.

- Do I need to book to visit the grove?
- Yes. There are no opening hours and no staff waiting: it is us. Write or call a few days ahead and we will find a slot. In the middle of harvest we may have to move it to another day.
- How much does a visit cost?
- Write to us and we will work it out based on how many of you there are and what you want to see. We have no published rate because we do not run visits in batches: each one is arranged as it comes.
- Can I collect my order at the estate instead of having it shipped?
- Yes, and that way you pay no shipping. Place the order as usual, tell us you would rather collect it, and we will agree a day and time. We are in Marmolejo, just off the A-4 between Andújar and Córdoba.
- When is the best time to come?
- Late October to December you can watch the harvest, which is the most interesting part, though it is when we are busiest. March to June the grove is in flower and the walking is better. July and August we recommend to nobody.
